Hey there my fellow foodies! One important thing you need to know about me is that I think there is nothing better than a meal eaten by the water. You just can’t go wrong with a beautiful view while you stuff your face with an incredible feast. Thankfully, living in the Tampa Bay/ St.Pete area there is not a shortage of wonderful places to have a bite with a view. This week I will help you navigate your next GNO, Date Night, or BNO(Boys night out?). This week’s EAT picks will help you explore your beachier side:
1.The Hula Bay Club and Dukes Retired Surfer’s Island Bar-These adjoining restaurants offer a laid back surfer dude vibe with just the right amount of class. Hula Bay and Dukes are located alongside Tampa Bay Harbor, offering a spectacular sunset view during the dinner hours. Jam out to some beachy live music weekly, or enjoy ladies night drink special on Thursdays. My favorite food option is the steamed clams made in a garlic butter sauce, so good!
2. The Getaway– The Getaway Restaurant is a great option after a nice long day of tanning at a St.Pete Beach. Eat brunch, lunch or dinner with your feet in the sand on their picnic style outside tables, or take it to the tiki bar on the back porch. The Getaway has options including delightful fish sandwiches, refreshing salads, and even crunchy tacos!
3. Jackson’s Bistro, Bar & Sushi – Not only is Jackson’s located on Harbour Island, offering incredible views of the Tampa Skyline, but the food matches the high quality location! With a wide variety of food options ranging from sushi to steak, this is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Tampa. Match your meal with a glass of fine wine and feel extra classy as you look out across the harbor. **warning this one is a bit more pricey than my normal suggested options but is great for a special occasion!**
4. Whisky Joe’s Bar & Grill– With an unparalleled fun young atmosphere, this restaurant is a great place to have some food with friends! With over 14 types of mojitos, 30 types of margaritas, and over 52 beers on tap there is no shortage of refreshments to pair nicely with your casual dining experience. If you are feeling frisky try out their gator bites, made from real alligator! In addition to the food and yummy drinks, you can check out their Tribute Band Series on Saturday’s with bands honoring musicians such as Kenney Chesney, AC/DC and the Rolling Stones.
