Don’t Tell Anyone But…

Ok, before you read this I need you all to put your hand over your heart and repeat after me: I swear I will not tell ANYONE about what I am about to read, I will not take photos of the food I am about to discover and post them on any social media, and I will not ruin the secrecy of these wonderful restaurants. Alright, we can start now. This week EAT will be letting you in on Tampa’s best kept secret restaurants.

1. Cappy’s- This little-hidden gem is a must taste for those pizza lovers out there. I am what some may call a pizza snob (shout out NY/NJ pizza) but this place kills it. You can choose between New York or Chicago Style pizza; whichever you choose you will not be disappointed! Remember to bring cash, this place does not take card.

2. The Front Porch Grill and Bar- If you were to walk by this wonderful little gem, you would have no idea it was even a restaurant. This hole-in-the-wall is based out of a 1898 old Victorian house. You will literally be served on the front porch of this cute eatery. Monday thru Thursday The Front Porch has $9 food specials, all made from scratch!

3. Ciro’s Speakeasy and Supper Club- this 1920’s prohibition era inspired bar and restaurant is perfect for the food seeker looking for a little mystery. Whether you are looking to feel classy for the night and just grab a glass of wine or sit down for a luxurious meal to match your cocktail you need to check this out. Get all dolled up and head over to this sexy speakeasy, don’t forget to call ahead and learn the secret ever-changing password.

4. Bavaro’s Pizza Napoletana- Located in downtown this tiny restaurant serves undeniably delicious food. With its brick walls, a rustic feel and a wood fired ovens this is a great place to show off some of your foodie skills on a first date. Bavaro’s has a truly authentic Italian feel and taste. My favorite dish is the penne ala vodka, it tastes like it was made in Italy.

Now, I know I made you promise not to tell anybody about these hidden treasures, but these restaurants rely heavily on word of mouth marketing to maintain their success. So, feel free to bring friends and family to these incredible locations and enjoy the incredible food and drink they have to offer. Happy eating!

  1. Cappy’s sounds like the perfect answer for our family. I am from NY and my husband is from Illinois and we really disagree on what makes a good pizza. It sounds like at Cappy’s we can each get our pick!
